“Safe in Your Arms” is the first of four original charcoal works from the Love for Humanity Series, a collection exploring the emotions that connect us across culture, circumstance, and background.

This intimate portrait captures the quiet bond between a father and child—the peaceful surrender of a sleeping child contrasted with the father's watchful, protective expression. One rests completely, while the other remains present. There is tenderness in the embrace, but also strength, responsibility, sacrifice, and the unspoken promise to protect someone you love.

Rendered in charcoal, the monochromatic palette strips away distraction and allows emotion to become the focus. Deep blacks, delicate highlights, expressive shadows, and finely rendered textures bring remarkable dimension to the faces, hands, clothing, and embrace. The closeness of the composition makes the viewer feel almost as though they have entered a private moment between parent and child.

At its heart, Safe in Your Arms is not simply about fatherhood. It is about something universal: the human need to love, protect, belong, and feel safe in the arms of another.
